My amazing roommate and maid of honor, Jacki, successfully pulled off a SURPRISE bachelorette party for me. The funny thing about Jacki is that you can always tell when she is up to something. Being such a creative mind, she expresses a certain amount of passion in every creative thing she does. It can often be seen when she has an idea. Her eyes brighten, she claps her hands and says "I'VE GOT IT!". I always know when she is brewing up something brilliant but she never reveals her ideas until the day of. That is exactly what she did last weekend. She and some of the funnest girls in Florence took me out for a night of spontaneous entertainment. (Of course, I wasn't with my actual bridal party but Jacki, Rachel, Mallory, Danielle, and Krystina made it a night to remember).
Now, what kind of girl would I be if I revealed the secrets of my bachelorette party?!? Instead, I want to share what locals did when they saw us. Apparently, bachelorette parties are not normal in Italy. Being a big group of girls, we caught the eyes of some local Italians who then tried to talk to us. No one that we talked to even knew what a bachelorette party was! They thought that all six of use were engaged. How is that even possible? Did our boyfriends all plan to propose at once? That's absurd. Many of them thought it was my birthday because my hat was a different color. All in all, the whole concept was pretty foreign to the people of Florence but that didn't stop us for having a good time. From secret bakeries to Einstein doppelgangers, the night was definitely one to remember.
I want to thank everyone who made that night such a blast! Celebrating my wedding in Italy is a dream come true. I can't wait to go back to Virginia and have another one with my girls back home!
Two bachelorette parties? Lucky me ;)
